Review: Alex Flower

It was a joy and a privilege to welcome back Alex Flower to Holy Trinity Church, Gosport, where he played for us today.

Alex brought us a really unique programme of music composed in two European countries, across three centuries and all cleverly linked together by a theme of Vater unser im Himmelreich - Our Father in Heaven - originally written by Martin Luther in 1538.

We really enjoyed the whole programme though the final work by Mendelssohn was particularly striking and the development of the theme through seven movements was powerful indeed.

We thanked Alex for his superb performance and already look forward to the next one…
