Biography

David Oldfield was born and educated in Sheffield, at King Edward VII School and at the Royal Northern College of Music, Manchester, where he studied organ, singing, and choral training.

David was Head of Music in schools, taught organ, piano and singing, and has held several organist and choirmaster positions. an organ recitalist and accompanist, he has worked extensively with and for the RSCM.

David specialises in early music, Baroque and Contemporary, but also has a wide repertoire outside these periods. He has made a special study of Tudor Church Music and the vast choral repertoire of English Church Music.

David directs the choir Coro Novus, as well as being involved in other choirs near his new home in Gosport. He also continues to pursue his career as a recitalist and as an accompanist.
